Kuramata Glass Chair

Designed By

Shiro Kuramata, a Japanese designer, designed the Kuramata Glass Chair in 1976. Both Japanese and western designs inspired Kuramata, and he used industrial materials with traditional Japanese aesthetics. The Kuramata Glass Chair is entirely made out of glass and adhesive and is seen as more of a conceptual sculpture than a functional furniture piece.

Our spaces are reflections of who we have been, who we are, and who we are becoming. We believe that the objects we surround ourselves with have meaningful impact on the lives we lead, and it is our mission to empower people to find and experiment with objects that move them, resourcefully, sustainably, and freely.
