LCM Chair

Designed By

Charles and Ray Eames, American industrial designers, designed the LCM Chair in 1946. Charles and Ray were interested in exploring the possibilities of manipulating plywood. They wanted to create a chair that was beautiful, functional, and affordable. They invented a technique that allowed them to bend plywood in two different directions. The chair of the seat contains a horizontal curve in the back and a downward curve in the front. This shape creates a comfortable and ergonomic design only using bentwood.

Our spaces are reflections of who we have been, who we are, and who we are becoming. We believe that the objects we surround ourselves with have meaningful impact on the lives we lead, and it is our mission to empower people to find and experiment with objects that move them, resourcefully, sustainably, and freely.
