Functionalism

Considering usability, materials, and form, Functionalism is often understood within modernism as it strips away ornamentation. The idea of function is not solely exclusive to a particular period, or location. Functionalism evolves responding to human needs. Contemporary audiences are most familiar with Functionalism that was championed during the second half of the 20th century that exhibits themes of socialism and humanism in order to create a livable space.
